God’s
Burial vs. Satan’s Cremation
“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou
eat bread, til thou return unto the ground; for out
of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art and unto
dust shalt thou return.” -
(Gen.3:19) “Then took they the body of
Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews
is to bury.” – (John 19:42) “For if
we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in
the likeness of his resurrection.” – (Rom.6:5)
One of the ways we can see how wicked and
antichrist the
From the earliest times, the church has
stood against heathen cremations. They condemned the sepulchers of flames and
the grills of fire. But now in these end times, cremation is growing rapidly in
the U.S. Cremation is a red-hot business. More than one-fourth of all Americans
who died last year were cremated – (burnt to ashes). That’s up from 10% in 1980
and 3% in 1963.
Never, never should a true saved, born again Christian
be cremated like the heathen Hindus. Don’t follow the world – follow the
word of God in all things. There is noting Christian about cremation.
Now let’s check out God’s word on this
important doctrine. In (Gen.3:19) we see God’s judgment of death on the first
man Adam after he sinned. He was the first man and God told him that he was to
be buried – “Till though return unto the
ground.” God created man out of the ground (clay) and he was to return back
to the ground at death.
In (Gen.15:5) we see the first ‘buried’ in
the bible as God speaks to Abraham – “Thou
shalt be buried.” In (Du.34:6)
we see God burying Moses on
God’s people were buried in the Old
Testament. Abraham, Sarah, Rachel, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Aaron, Moses, Joshua,
Samuel, David, and all Christians in the New Testament were buried as well.
But the greatest example is the Lord Jesus
Christ, as it is written – “Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes, with
the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.” (John 19:40). Again in (I Cor.15:4) “And that he was buried and that be rose again the third day according
to the scriptures.” And so should we die and be buried and await the
resurrection according to the scriptures.
Yes, we are buried because we look forward
to our bodily resurrection. Our physical bodies bear the born again incorruptible
seed of the resurrection unto eternal life. All of God’s living creation was
made with a seed within itself (Gen.1) for future life. “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by
the word of God, which liveth and abideth
forever.” Our bodies are to be ‘planted’ in the ground as a seed awaiting
the wake-up call of the rapture trumpet when the seed sprouts a resurrected
body and we shall come up out of our graves as the saints did after our Lord
resurrected. – “And the graves were
opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the
graves after his resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared unto
many.” – (Mt.27:52-53).
The gospel is called a/seed that is sown in
human hearts – (Mt.13) and when we truly believe on Christ and repent of our
sins, our Heavenly Father places an incorruptible seed in us that produces a
new spiritual birth and will produce a new bodily birth after we’re buried in
the ground. (Rom.6:5) says – “For if we
have been ‘planted’ together in the
likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.”
In (I Cor.15:35-44 )
our Lord tells us about burial and resurrection and he speaks as a farmer
planting seeds. Our body is sown in
the ground as a new glorified body – praise the Lord Jesus. “So also is the resurrection of the dead. It
is sown in corruption: it is raised in
incorruption: it is sown in
dishonor: it is raised in glory: it is sown
in weakness; it is raised in power: it is sown
a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and
there is a spiritual body.” - (I Cor.15:42-44). All of God’s saints have
this hope that we shall resurrect in our same body, only it will be a changed,
glorified body. (Jn.12:24) says – “Verily,
verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it
abideth alone: but if it die,
it bringeth forth much fruit.” A seed laid on a
shelf or kept in a jar will not produce fruit. The seed must be put into the
ground – it must die and when it springs up into life it produces fruit. It
happened with the death burial and resurrection of our Lord, and it will happen
to us saints.
Cremation is God’s judgment and curse on
sin. In the bible when the body is burned it is a sign of God’s wrath upon a
sinner – (Lev.10:1-2) and (Num.16:35) and (Jos.7:15 and 35). In (Lev.20:14) it
is written – “If a man take a wife and
her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire.” Again in
(Lev.21:9) “And the daughter of any
priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore ..
she shall be burnt with fire.”
The Christians body belongs to God.. It is not ours to destroy by cremation or any other way –
(Rom.14:8).
Certainly you can connect cremation with the
lake of fire that God has prepared for every sinner who rejects his dear son on
the cross and refuses to get saved – “And
whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of
fire.” (Rev.20:15). Cremation points to hell and the judgment of God on sin
and it is satanic and anti Christian, except the soul never dies and the punishment
is everlasting.
All the burnt offering sacrifices in the Old
Testament showed us the judgment of God upon sin in hell. The sacrifice was
cremated on the altar and the ashes were hauled away. If we have Christ, God’s perfect,
supreme sacrifice, we are saved from hell, he is our
atonement for sins.
Cremation undertakers have been involved in
unbelievable things being done to corpses awaiting cremation. Like removing
gold from teeth and stealing jewels and mixing several bodies together in one
oven and scooping a urn of ashes not knowing who was
who. Corpses were piled up like cordwood outside the crematorium for months and
years and eaten by animals. They also stole body organs and sold them for
money.
Many people choose Satan’s cremation because
it’s simple and it doesn’t cost much – (Although you can be buried cheaply also
– nobody need spend thousands of dollars). Stay away from heathen cremations
and the devil’s hell fire. Burial is the only proper way for a Christian to
dispose of their dead. It’s the only scriptural way. We follow the example of
our heavenly father and of his son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Turn from the urn of
cremation back to God’s word.
The New Testament describes those who have
died as being ‘asleep’ – (John
A born again saint of God ‘lives’ according
to the bible and he ‘dies’ according to the scriptures also – by being buried. I’m not going to the
lake of fire in my second death and I will not be cremated in my first death
either. I’m, saved and washed in the blood of Christ and the wrath of God no
longer abides upon me. “He that believeth
on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not
see life: but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
(Jn.3:36).
Be saved today. Repent of your sins and
believe on Christ. Have your name written down in the lamb’s book of life.
Become a child of God by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. And have the spirit of
truth in you. Then you will know the truth of – God’s burial vs. Satan’s
Cremation. Amen and Amen.
